The 1300 East project is building on a foundation of several transportation planning and analysis efforts. This area was evaluated as part of the Local Link Study, which reached its conclusion in early 2022. The environmental study incorporated the recommendations from the Local Link circulation study, which included development of bicyclist and pedestrian improvements. It also evaluated potential new intersection layouts for 1300 East and Highland drive and surrounding traffic signals. Given the scope and funding available for the project, no transit recommendations will be included in this study, but the selected design will incorporate the future needs of the corridor as much as possible.
