
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Salt Lake City is continuing its efforts to improve roads and multimodal transportation in Sugar House and the surrounding area by constructing improvements along 1300 East between 2100 South and Elgin Avenue. The improvements include replacing the aged pavement, providing a smoother road for drivers, and enhancing safety for pedestrians and cyclists. ​​

ONGOING CONSTRUCTION
​1300 East between 2100 South and I-80
Starting as early as Sunday, Aug. 24, and continuing for three nights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the intersection of 1300 East and 2100 South will be closed to accommodate paving activities. All lanes will be open during the day, but lanes could be shifted to allow asphalt to cool. Drivers should allow extra travel time and use Highland Drive as a detour.

Crews will begin repaving 1300 East between 2100 South and I-80 starting as early as Sunday, Aug. 24, and continuing through mid-September.
Crews will complete work in this section before moving south to begin paving 1300 East between I-80 and Zenith Avenue.

​1300 East I-80 to Zenith Avenue Night Work
Starting as early as Thursday, Aug. 7, through the end of August, crews will start night work on 1300 East between I-80 and Zenith Avenue. Construction activities will include removing the existing concrete median and preparing the roadway surface for upcoming asphalt road paving.​​
Drivers and pedestrians should use caution when traveling through the area and follow all traffic control signage. Construction will be done in phases and is anticipated to be complete in fall 2025.
